Paddons Paddock Pinot Noir
Paddons Paddock Pinot Noir
The wine: Choose from the 2019 or 2020 vintage of our Paddons Paddock Pinot Noir.
2019: Bright redcurrant, spice and Black Doris plum aromatics, giving way to an elegant gorgeously textured palate, showing poise, finesse and drive.
2020: Pinot Noir 2020 Dry - Central Otago Pinot Noirs are world renowned for their unique exceptional flavours. PP Pinot Noir features bring redcurrent, bramble spicy aromatics showing poise finesse and drive. This wine sits in French and Canadian barrels for over 12 months before it is bottled. We hope you love it as much as we do. Enjoy!
The story: The Central Otago region is of course well-known for Pinot Noir - and considering that the first commercial bottling of Pinot Noir in New Zealand was only in 1987, we’re fast appearing on the global map with over 10,000 million litres of New Zealand Pinot Noir being exported in twelve months last year! There are excellent wineries from Wānaka to Cromwell, Queenstown to Luggate - but we wanted to make the best Central Otago Pinot Noir we possibly could. Our Paddons Paddock Pinot Noir ages for a year in barrels, then sits in a bottle for six months before it’s ready to enjoy.
The winemaker: Our Pinot Noir is the speciality of Central Otago legendary winemaker Dean Shaw. Dean has been making wine with grapes from more than a dozen different vineyards for 18 years, which probably makes him one of the most experienced winemakers in the Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes areas. He started his education in New Zealand before traveling to France where he studied winemaking in Burgundy, Austria and South Africa, and has worked with a number of Central Otago and Queenstown wineries.

Vines and views to die for
We all had our favourites, but the Sauvignon Gris was the overall winner, so a few more added to bill and to take away. Lovely warm and professional service, interior stylish, and good value for money.
